CanadianEMR is a community-based website designed to help physicians adopt electronic medical records into their practice. Physicians can access a wide variety of features on the site including EMR vendor information, a resource directory of vendors that sell EMR-related products (e.g. computer hardware), and up-to-date information on the EMR industry through a dedicated blog and podcasts.
The network is also a valuable tool for EMR vendors. An EMR vendor that pays an annual fee is provided with a free section on the website where they can post their company information, website URL, and downloadable marketing materials, such as pdf files.
The most appealing—and—unique feature on the site is the EMR rating engine. Any physician can go onto the site and evaluate their EMR system through a comprehensive rating engine. Once a rating has been submitted, the vendor is notified that they have been rated. The vendor, unable to see the actual rating, has to verify that the user who has submitted the rating is actually their customer before it goes live.
